The Cold Coast
The Cold Coast is a chilly coastal region and the northernmost explored area of “WEST CONT”. The majority of the region is dotted with “camps” that are mainly populated by a variety of races employed as fishermen, craftsmen, rangers, prospectors mining the deeps for minerals and precious stones, woodcutters, trappers, and merchants who tolerate the climate in the hope of trading in ivory and gems. The Cold Coast’s isolation, harshness and lack of strong government make it a perfect place for those who wish to disappear to do so. The area is home to a multitude of men and women with checkered pasts.
The northern reaches of the Cold Coast are a different matter – the area sees frequent dangers including barbarian tribes, and creatures the locals refer to as galdra (screamers) and brunnmigi (well pissers), both of which are often used to denote anything from trolls, giants, and evil spirits, to shifters, cannibals and witches. There are tiny pockets of civilization to be found, but often the people inhabiting them are considered to be quite mad themselves.
